Timor-Leste 7-year-old arrives for eye surgery

Vanessa has arrived in Darwin from Timor-Leste on her way to Sydney for eye surgery.

She was met by ROMAC Northern Territory Regional Chair Judith Mckay and the Timor-Leste Ambassador to Australia, Ines Almeida, who kindly assisted with transit through immigration and customs.

Vanessa, aged seven, is pictured above at Darwin Airport with Ambassador Almeida (left), Judith Mckay and her father Saturnino. She was on her way to Sydney to be met by ROMAC Eastern Region Chair Anita Robinson.

Surgery for her right eye protosis is scheduled for next week at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
