Haran Ramachandran OAM knows from experience what it takes to rebuild a life after serious injury. A burns survivor supported by fellow Rotarians through his recovery, he understands the long journey many ROMAC children face and how much caring people can help.

Haran began his Rotary journey in Sri Lanka as an Interactor in 1983 and continued in Rotaract after moving to Australia. A Rotarian since 2001, he has been club president three times, including The Hills-Kellyville, and is now a member of the Rotary Club of Norwest Sunrise, Bella Vista. As District Governor-Elect of District 9685, he will serve as Governor in 2027–28. He has served as District Rotary Foundation Chair and Grants Subcommittee Chair.

He has brought together clubs, Rotarians worldwide, institutions, and partners on projects in surgery, medical care, clean water, education, and disaster recovery across Australia, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and India. As ROMAC's DGE Representative, he will help Rotary leaders champion ROMAC's life-changing work for children throughout Oceania.

Married to Ahsha, with two adult children, Haran has more than 25 years' experience in information technology and management. He received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2025 for service to the community.
