Mariam joined the ROMAC Eastern District in early 2025 and is part of an enthusiastic team caring for children treated at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital.
She joined the Rotary Club of Mosman in 2024 after living and working overseas for 15 years. Mariam is passionate about ROMAC and the children, families, and communities whose lives are transformed by the organisation.
Prior to returning to Sydney, Mariam served as Head of Enterprise Technology for an international insurance company in Hong Kong. Her professional expertise spans technology, risk management, and compliance across various sectors, including banking, energy, public health, and higher education, where she lectured postgraduates in Computer Science. She has delivered large-scale projects across multiple countries and enjoys tackling complexity and ambiguity.
Mariam is married to David, a fellow Mosman Rotarian. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
After deciding to retire, she and David spent nearly three years travelling with only a suitcase each and no fixed address. Her hobbies include gardening, playing the piano, hiking, sailing, and scuba diving.
