Held at Cobbitty Retirement Village, the event welcomed a large crowd of enthusiastic guests who enjoyed a delicious high tea lovingly prepared and served by village residents. Entertainment was provided by The New Tender while guests were treated to a vibrant fashion parade presented by Dianne Wilson.
The generosity of attendees and supporters resulted in an outstanding fundraising total of $12,800 for ROMAC, helping to provide life-changing medical treatment for children across the Oceania region. The club also acknowledges the continued generous support of Sybra Hunt, whose long-term commitment to ROMAC has made a meaningful difference to the lives of children over many years.
The highlight of the day was the remarkable contribution of 10-year-old Cameron, grandson of one of the village residents. Cameron is pictured above with Eastern Region Chair Anita Robinson.
Inspired by ROMAC’s work, Cameron donated the proceeds from selling pumpkins grown on his family’s market garden. His generosity touched everyone present including D9675 Past District Governor Tonia Barnes who was a guest at the event. So impressed was she by Cameron’s selfless act that she contributed an additional $175 bringing his total donation to $1,000.
Cameron’s compassion and generosity perfectly reflect the spirit of Rotary and serve as a reminder that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
The Rotary Club of Gregory Hills Next-Gen sincerely thanks its generous sponsors: Taylor'd Funerals, SipTel, PCSOFT, Exceed Creative, Danielle Evans of Stone Real Estate, Bob Jane T-Marts Campbelltown, Marsden’s Law Group and Christian Fox Accounting. Their support played an important role in the success of the event.
The Club also extends its heartfelt thanks to the residents of Cobbitty Retirement Village for their hospitality and to all attendees and supporters who contributed to the day’s success. Together their generosity helped the Lei Day High Tea once again demonstrate the power of community in changing young lives through ROMAC.
