In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Rotary Project of ROMAC, Rotarian Maggie Alexander was recently recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF). This award is named after Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary, and is a prestigious volunteer recognition of outstanding contribution to the community.
ROMAC Chair Glenys Parton said at the Annual General Meeting in October 2025: “Maggie Alexander’s continued mentorship of others and commitment to ROMAC’s mission, and her support for the Board, are greatly appreciated and worthy of a Paul Harris Fellow Award.”
Since joining the Rotary charity in 2017, Maggie has served in a number of volunteer roles with tireless dedication and care. She has applied her broad skillset, resourcefulness and diligence to supporting ROMAC public relations, communications, human resource management and IT.
Over the past 18 months, her help has been pivotal in successfully navigating significant changes to our By-Laws, Constitution, and internal policies. Maggie launched our Lei Day fundraising campaign which owes its success to her thoughtful input, vision and persistence. Maggie has recently moved from HR to focus on IT strategy and lead a project of change, all while preparing to take on the role of President of the Rotary Club of Gold Coast.
Maggie’s wise counsel, keen eye for detail and unwavering professionalism have been invaluable during a period of reorganisation and evolution, a steadying force as we've welcomed new volunteers, broadened our support network and strengthened our organisation.
